EsDeeKid heads to Berlin and Cologne
// Damien Töpfl · 2 min read
A black balaclava, an unmistakable Scouse accent and tracks that move between cloud rap and distorted trap: EsDeeKid has built a sound and image that are instantly recognisable. In November, German audiences get to hear how that translates to the stage. His Council House Rat Tour stops at Berlin's Columbiahalle on 8 November and Cologne's Palladium on 29 November.
The Liverpool artist began releasing music on SoundCloud in 2023. "Palaces" brought him wider attention in 2024. Then came "LV Sandals", "Phantom" and "4 Raws", tracks that pushed him well beyond the UK underground. "4 Raws" also reached listeners during Ye's March 2026 livestream for the release of his album "Bully": he played the EsDeeKid track towards the end of the stream. His 2025 mixtape "Rebel" carried his music further still. Little is publicly known about the person behind the mask; the focus remains on the voice, the rhythm and the dense, abrasive production.
At one point the theory went around that EsDeeKid was secretly Timothée Chalamet. It died in December, when the two appeared in the "4 Raws" remix video at the same time, Chalamet pulling down his bandana next to a rapper who kept his balaclava on.
Those two German dates offer a chance to hear the music outside the compressed world of streams and short clips. The recordings combine weight with a strangely distant atmosphere. What happens when that tension meets a room full of people is the question these shows will answer.
